Howdy!

My name is Karissa Ellington and I am your California Miss United States Agriculture State Director. I competed in our program and fell in love with helping my sister queens promote the agriculture industry that I decided I wanted to help give other women a platform to advocate for the agriculture industry.

I grew up on my family's cattle ranch in San Diego, California. I was a prior member of both 4-H and FFA , and graduated from El Capitan High School. I studied Animal Science at Reedley College and was involved in many agriculture related clubs on campus, including being a Herdsman, and a Resident Assistant at our college dormitory.

I discovered my love for line dancing and it was only fitting that I met my husband while doing so. We are now married expecting our next child in the next couple of weeks!

"My experience as a county queen for California Miss United States Agriculture was amazing! It opened up a whole new world for me and plenty of other opportunities and meeting new girls and building that sisterhood with the surrounding county queen’s is a memory I will never forget! Not only did I get to build all those memories, I also got to advocate for the agriculture industry, very thankful for California Miss United States Agriculture for welcoming me into this program!"

"The California Miss United States Agriculture program changed my life. I grew so much as a leader during my year and a half of service. I am truly a better person and a better advocate than I was when I first joined. My communication skills, and confidence have blossomed and my perspective on difficult situations has changed for the better. This program is full of women who have a deep passion for agriculture and want to see all who participate succeed. I highly encourage all who are interested to take a leap of faith and sign up to be a county queen today!"

"So far, I have had so much fun. This organization gives me the opportunity to give back to my community. It also has taught me many different things about agriculture. There is so much to learn and this a fun way to do it."
